Lone Shieling Cassettes has released a superb experimental album by dagger woods, simply titled, “dagger woods ep.” The label is operated by the artist, Thomas Clarke from Sydney, Nova Scotia. The recording offers up unique and expansive soundscapes – and I love it. It’s dark, ethereal and pleasing to the ear. It was recorded on a 4-track tape recorder using old casio keyboards, cheap guitar pedals, a mini synth and a fisher price record player. The artwork is stunning too – which is completely handmade and hand-stamped.
The release is limited to just 10 copies available online. In other words, buy it.
